Hostage Pit is a post-hardcore band fueled by the dueling influences of lifelong friendship and rallying against the us governments hatred of queer / brown people. Along with a healthy dose of Deerhoof Polvo and US Maple, Hostage Pit make ugly music for ugly times. Mosh accordingly. Forged during the snowy winter of 2024 by members Carlos Knoop (of Mobsters of the Psyche, Casual Burn), Eddie Alvarez (of Male Model, Jellyfish Brothers), and Greg Alvarez (of the Jellyfish Brothers and Morir Soando).The hypnotic rhythms of drummer Eddie Alvarez and the driving, wandering, invasive bassives of sibling Greg Alvarez are trespassed by Carlos Knoops staccato guitar loops and electric-mistress madness until the group devolves into chunky post-grunge verses, noise-pop melodies and angsty ruminations on a fearless future where we stop discarding joy for the promised vulgarity of safety only for some.
